Los Cabos

I wanted to do a honeymoon post before too much time goes by and I start to forget! After Mike got over his paranoia of being arrested by federales and murdered by drug lords, we decided to go to Mexico. (He's a worrier!) The morning after we got married, we flew to Cabo and stayed at the Secrets Marquis Resort & Spa for 5 days. It's about a 15 minute drive from downtown Cabo, so it's nice and secluded from the busy touristy spots, but still close enough when you want to go into town or to Lover's Beach! The resort was all inclusive and had A-MAZING food with 24 hour room service...so obviously it was a huge hit with us. And I gained 8 pounds. Seriously :(

When you pull up to the hotel there's a gorgeous open lobby with a view of cascading infinity pools right out to the ocean. It was so pretty!..

The first day we hung out at the pool, explored the hotel, and started to figure out this place wasn't  messing around when it said "all inclusive". We kept going around like, "So are the drinks free? Is poolside food? What about room service? Not this restaurant right? That one? Free?! All the time?" It was awesome. And we were happier and fatter every day. Our favorite restaurant was this teppanyaki place that had great sushi. We ate there almost every night and once twice in one night. It was a little awkward but we needed to get our money's worth! Here's a pic of the inside…:)

The rest of the days we went into town, took a boat out to Lover's Beach, got massages at the spa, did  what people do best on honeymoons ;), and ordered lots of room service! The last day we were signed up to go ride dune buggies on the beach, but a huge storm came in and it was canceled. It was actually pretty crazythere were huge 15-20ft waves and nobody was allowed on the beach. The picture doesn't even do it justice!
Storm day :(
When we went to Lover's Beach, we signed up to take a "glass bottom boat" where you supposedly see tons of wildlife on the way over. It turned out to be more of a glorified canoe with a little glass window at the bottom. All of us cramped inside had to lean over each other to even see it, and we maybe saw 5 or 6 fish the whole time. Haha.

On our last morning we took a cliche long walk on the beach, and I got this awesome picture that now is framed in our house (bottom)

Late Blogger

I'm definitely a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to blogging. I've seen so many of my friends do it, and really didn't see the point. Now that I'm married, I've finally decided to give in and use blogging more as a journal. I want to have a record of our lives, and be able to look back on it in the future and even have something to show our kids. I have a few creative genes flowing through me, but am way too ADD to ever sit down and bust out some fancy scrap book or photo album…but sitting and writing a quick blog with some pictures I think I can do! So here goes…

For my first post I want to give a quick shout out to my mom for throwing an awesome, over the top, amazing wedding in the month notice I gave her. Mike and I were engaged for quite a while, so I had the basics like my colors picked out and what not, but because of some crazy circumstances we couldn't actually set a date for a while. When we figured it all out it was craziness for about a month putting everything together. Craziness for my mother that is. I answered the occasional phone call, showed up at the dress fittings, and picked bridesmaids. (Sorry mom). But the day was seriously the best day of my life (cliche I know but Mike and I both couldn't stop talking about how awesome and fun it was). So thanks mom, that was all you :) Alright that's good enough for my first post right?  I'll throw in some pictures and hopefully keep this up!
